    Upgrade to Dapper fails

Before trying to upgrade my main PC from Breezy to Dapper, I decided to do the upgrade on an old PC that I had first used to go the Kubuntu route from Windows.

After running the upgrade, the reboot fails at these points:
    Restoring resolver state
/etc/ppp/ip-down.d/0dns-down: line33: cd: /var/run/pppconfig: no such file or directory
    and
    Synchronising clock to ntp.ubuntulinux.org
Error: Temporary failure in name resolution

Can't type anything, so do I assume that it is irrecoverable and I would need to do a new install with a Dapper CD?
I am now reluctant to try and update Breezy on my main PC and my 3 friends PCs that I have helped convert from Windows to Kubuntu.
Is there likely to be a modified version of Dapper in a few weeks as bugs are ironed out? Inclined now to await further developments.

    Richard
