    Install CD

    Hi!
    I downloaded the "PC (Intel x86) desktop CD" earlier today on my lunch break, but I seem to got an Live-CD!?! and that is not what I want. I want the normal install CD. The name of the file I downloaded is "kubuntu-6.06-desktop-i386.iso"

    hhmmm... from what i understood the live cd and the install cd is now in 1 package. your can install the kubuntu from the live desktop.

      Yes you are absolutely right.
      For Easy Kubuntu Install the user needs to run the Desktop CD as a Live CD in Kubuntu early versions and then to Install the Kubuntu OS from its Desktop(while the install process you can do whether you want - like surfing the web ot chatting from the CD).

        Is it possible to install Kubuntu the old fashion way? I really like it that way.

          It looks like the Server CD is a straight install. I have not tried it though... Don't you get an icon for installing onn your desktop?
