Ack! I'm not sure what resides on your /dev/hda2 partition; it depends on how you set up your partitions when installing Dapper. Is it possible that you suffered a hard drive failure?

Can you boot up in rescue mode? If so, post your /tec/fstab file. By the way, what's on hda2?

Hello. I have the same problem. after dist-upgrade to dapper boot procedure
ends with: "alert /dev/sda6 does not exist". before this i have many lines with
'segmentation fault' message. This happens when i use 2.6.12.10 kernel. With
2.6.10 it works. I found only one difference: 2.6.10 is using initrd-tools and
          2.6.12.10: initramfs-tools.

            Hi,

Once I had one problem like this, and I've got the idea that it can be because I was using SATA HD and it was recognize like /dev/sda by one and like /dev/hda by the other, so I've changed to /dev/hda and it worked, maybe you can try...
