    This is the problem....

Uncrompressing Linux... Ok, booting the kernel.
ALERT! /dev/ram does not exist. Dropping to a shell!

    BusyBox v1.01 (Debian 1:1.01-4ubuntu1) Built-in a shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off

      Hi,

Can you tell us what version you're trying to install please ?
I remember that there was troubles with a busybox version but I don't get which exactly...
Is it a dapper flight cd (if yes, which one) or a breezy cd ?

        Re: I can't install it!!

I'm having the exact same problem. When I attempt to do a normal install I get a screen full of strange colors. If I do it in safe mode all looks fine. It claims to install but fails at reboot while searching for root partition. If I try a text install it just stops after partitioning the disc. It's very madening and the fixes offered so far haven't fixed anything.
