I believe you can although i dont currently have Kubuntu installed.

Seems to me : yes. I had Kubuntu 6.04 Dapper Flight 4 updated until the day that Flight 5 appeared. Flight 5 looks/acts the same (imho) as the updasted Flight 4. There are probably some differences, but no very obvious ones.
