    corrupt display while booting

While booting I get a corrupted display.
It is not a big problem, but I can't see what it is doing during boot. It seems like it is setting my Radeon 9700 to a display mode it or my TFT can't handle.
My TFT claims it to be 720x400@70Hz which is a mode it normally handles.

I also get corrupted display, but only in grub (can't see anything only lots of colours) and the 3 first line at boot before slash kicks in. Also if I try to enter console I only get a black screen.

Running a laptop with nvidia go 6600. breezy and hoary worked just fine.

I took some pictures of my boot:
First picture is of grup preload, which is normal (crapy picture)

Second picture i of the grub meny, note the pretty colours

Third and fourth is of the first lines of the kernel, again nice fonts

Fifth and sixth is of the splashscreen. they are normal again

The last picture is of the console after X has loaded, note the pure black (not a picture, just black)

When I tried the ubuntu flight 5 live, none of these problems happend, exept the grub issue since the live doesn't have one

        Re: corrupt display while booting

I found a workaround for the grub problem:
        #splashimage=(hd0,1)/boot/grub/ from menu.lst
So now its black and white. And dull

But my bigest problem, the console bug is still not fixed.

seems the grub problemwent away after an apt-get upgrade.

but the cosole black screen remains. If X fails to start then I have console but it seems thatI can't have both

            Re: corrupt display while booting

I added vga=0x318 to kernel options in GRUB. This fixed the corrupt bootscreen and console bug.
