Hello
I am a bit perplexed by Ubuntu's and Imac G3's. Imac G3's seem to be quite 'standard' across the board ( in terms of same motherboards / chips ) but some people seem to get Linux installed and some don't.
I've tried to install Kubuntu 6 and 7 both Live and Alternate Cds on my Snow 600Mhz Imac and had no luck. It justs hangs at the Kubuntu logo. I've tried removing the line ' load "drv" from the xorg.conf file but this makes no luck. Also I notice the Kubuntu logo is all 'blue' ....how do I describe...there's no white or cyan in the logo which suggests some video problem ( unless the logo is meant to be like this).
I've tried installing Ubuntu and the only flavour that did install was Xubuntu 6. And to do that I had to remove that line in xorg.conf.
Sorry if this has been asked loads of times before but can you install Kubuntu to Imac G3s? I've been on the web along time trying to get a definitive answer but it's not easy.........
I've also come to the conclusion that the Apple Airport card is not going to work in any Ubuntu on my Imac.............would anyone know if this was correct?
Thanks for your advice.
