I have vista home edition and I am having trouble booting from cd. I get past the point were the kernel is opened. I get to a screen that has Kubuntu on it with some logo material and then it just freezes there.

Re: problem booting from cd on Vista
When you have booted from the LiveCD, press F4 (or F6) to be able to edit the boot kernel line. Arrow all the way to the right. Then, arrow back left. You want to delete the words quiet and splash and then arrow all the way back to the right and press the Enter key. This will remove the splash screen from the boot process and turn on all the boot messages. We are interested in the last few messages that are displayed when your system 'hangs.'Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.
