I just got a new laptop from linuxcertified with ubuntu preinstalled. So far everything works great. I had them partition the hd so that I could install kubuntu along side using the same partition for /home. The install went pretty well except at the end everything froze up. so I did a manual shutdown and restart. Kubuntu booted fine. However there is no sign of the ubuntu kernels. How do I edit the grub menu to show these kernels so I can boot ubuntu?
I believe the folks at linuxcertified made a separate partition for /boot. I tried copying the menu.lst from that partition to the /boot/grub/menu.lst in the kubuntu partition with no luck. All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
p.s.
One other problem. The wireless card worked fine right after the install of kubuntu. but after running automatix and rebooting it failed. I had to install kwifimanager in order to connect via wirless. Why would that be??
