Kubuntu detects partition with newly installed distro as corrupted filesystem

I have a 80GB hard disk with 8 partitions. 1 is Windows XP; 2 is Linux boot folder (the grub created by kubuntu); 3 is Linux swap; 4 is extended(for 5 to 8, which are logical partitions); 5 is kubuntu root; 6 is kubuntu home; 7 is Puppy Linux; 8 was empty (ext3, 10mb). I made partitions 2 to 8 by shrinking the Windows partition down to 30GB. Partition 7, Puppy Linux, was not detected as corrupted filesystem because it used FAT. After installing freespire on partition 8, kubuntu no longer sees it as the empty drive and shows up with corrupted filesystem messages in start up. I have to press ctrl+d a few times to exit the root command and continue the boot up.
Does anyone know how to solve this?
