I would like to partition my hard drive in Kubuntu in 2; same way in Windoze as a C:\ and D:\ so the second partition can be used to put data on it. I know it wont be C and D but had1 and hda2 right? I want both partitions to be ext3 Linux. is there a way to do that?

Re: how to partiton HD as several partitions simular to C:\, D:\ and so on?
hi you can download gtparted and make a live cd from which you can partition your hard disc. root partition (/) similar to windows C and home partition (/home) same a swindows D. If you are planning on installing kubuntu then you best format then as ext3. Hope this helps.
