    adding splash image

    Greetings:

    I just installed the kubuntu perfectly as dual boot

    primary hdd: win xp
    primary slave hdd : kubuntu

    How to add splash image in kubuntu.....Can anyone help me.....


    Maybe If i can recommend, can you add a splash image in your next releae version...thanks.

      Which kind of splash are you asking for? There are 3 kinds of splashes:

      1. GRUB splash - the GRUB menu screen, usually either a fancy menu (ala SUSE or MEPIS) or just a plain GRUB menu with a background image or color (ala PCLinuxOS).

      2. Bootsplash - an animated display, sometimes with scrolling text, that appears while booting the system (after the GRUB menu and before logging in). This is the kind that UnicornRider refers to above. The bootsplash engine that Kubuntu uses is its own homegrown engine, called USplash.

      3. Splash screen - in KDE's case, KSplash, the animated display that appears after logging into KDE. This is probably the easiest to change among the three.

      I presume you were talking about a GRUB splash, since Kubuntu already has a bootsplash by default. If that's the case, these guides would probably be helpful:
