I hope someone can assist please. I'm V new to Linux but thought I'd give it a go. I downloaded and created a Kubuntu 6.10 Live CD which seems to boot OK. I then found a link to create a 'persistence' version which I attempted to follow, but I can't get it to boot correctly.

If I boot without persistence or a USB pen drive attached it all boots OK and appears to work. Obviously persistence doesn't.
If I boot with a persistence USB drive attached, <f6> at the boot menu and add persistence, it doesn't boot correctly, I get loads of errors of the following type:-
<varying numbers> Buffer I/O error on device hdc:. logical block <varying number>
hdc: I beleive is my DVD drive that I'm booting from, which without persistence boots fine.
After about 20 of these messages, it eventually boots but Persistence isn't working.
I realise the link was officially a Ubuntu link, so just in case I downloaded Ubuntu 6.10 and tried that as well. Same results.
Any ideas?
