Hello all. Am having a problem configuring the sound/volume on a H/D installation. Running from the Live CD was fine, but upon installing to H/D, nothing. Playing through Kaffeine gives me an indication that the mute button is on, but when clicking to remove it, no change. Worked fine in MS Win XP. Sound is from onboard MSI motherboard. Any solutions?

Hello. An additional to the above. Sound works with system, but not using amarok or Kaffeine. Unable to get sound with either audio or video files. Any ideas anyone? -

open a konsole and enter
sudo alsamixer
after entering your password, you will see a graphical display. use the cursor keys to navigate and change volume, and the m key (i think) changes mute status. After you're finished, hit the esc key and your new settings should be saved.
