    LCD Monitor

I run Kubuntu on a Dell P2 Laptop with a normal display. When I attempt to run Kubuntu from my laptop to an LCD monitor, the monitor recommends that I run Kubuntu in 1440x900 at 60Hz and Kubuntu does not appear on the monitor. Is there a way that can change Kubuntu to run in this display mode.

    Thanks.

    Re: LCD Monitor

    You could:

    1)
    In the konsole:
    Code:
    sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
This reconfigures xserver (screen resolution, refresh rate, lot of other stuff). And it makes backup.

    or

    2)
Edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf manually. xorg.conf is text file. Backup first !

    This may help:

    Before you edit, BACKUP !
