should i update my ATI driver

so ATi released a new driver today -- ATI Proprietary Linux x86 Display Driver 8.31.5

Should i upgrade and does anyone have a quick "How to install" bcuz obviously i can't install it from synaptic i need to manually download and install.

Are these instruction (METHOD 2) ok to use

Hi,
method 2 should work just edit the comand lines for your operating system, but personally I would leave it until you have a chance to see some feedback on how well it works and that there are no major bugs.

Just my experince and undestand I'm fairly new to Linux. But screwing with your ATI setup is a chancy business.

If you don't/can't uninstall the old driver installing a new one has always been a complete bork for me.
