    Change system fonts

I am taking a look at kubuntu 6.0.6 LTS and am new to the Linux environment so forgive me for what is probably a basic question. The first thing I noticed was the font rendering could be better (on my system) as all the fonts seem to not be antialiased (they have a grayish washed out appearance) even though antialiasing is set. So I thought I would try to change the screen fonts but can't seem to find where to do that. Could someone point me in the right direction to change the fonts?

    Thx
