Need help no sound

I am new to Kubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake. On the install looking in the KDE window the little sound icon has a red X on it and says “mixer cannot be found”KMix. The is a older Dell computer OptiPlex GX1. It fas sound on board a Crystal 4236b. Looking at the System Settings under Sound and Multimedia. I don't believe it found a driver.

Before I was using Suse 10.0 and the sound worked fine. It used the driver CS4235b. When I updated to 10.1 it had the same problem as this one. On the Suse 10.1 it had the driver installed. So I don't know what the problem is!!

Can someone help?
