When I switched from Ubuntu to Kubuntu I could not print a printer shared by my iMac. This printer worked with Ubuntu. The KDE add printer wizard would see the Epson Stylus Photo R200 however when I printed a test page it would be aborted. Finally I changed the driver from Epson Stylus Photo R200 in the KDE Printer-System Settings to GENERIC postscript and it WORKS.
I am not sure how Ubuntu was able to make the printer work and Kubuntu could not. I assume the CUPS Ghostscript driver on the iMac is interpreting the generic postscript sent from Kubuntu.
