no connection with WG311v2 wirless card

I just did a fresh install of Kubuntu 6.06 and it won't connect to the internet using my WG311v2 wireless PCI card. In the network settings my wlan0 shows up enabled. Under the KInfocenter's network info it does not appear. As for the rest of what I've found it's as follows:

    wlan0 No scan results
    caudata@caudata-desktop:~$ iwconfig wlan0
    wlan0 IEEE 802.11b+/g+ ESSID:"STA4CD165" Nickname:"acx v0.3.21"
    Mode:Managed Frequency:2.412 GHz Access Point: Not-Associated
    Bit Rate:54 Mb/s Tx-Power=15 dBm Sensitivity=1/3
    Retry min limit:7 RTS thrff
    Power Managementff
    Link Quality=31/100 Signal level=4/100 Noise level=0/100
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
    Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

    caudata@caudata-desktop:~$ ifconfig wlan0
    wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:0F:B5:4C1:65
    UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
    RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
    TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
    collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
    RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
    Interrupt:74 Base address:0xe000

I can't claim to know exactly what all of this means but obviously it's not finding the wireless access point. The iwlist wlan0 scan gives back no scan results. Anyway if anyone has any suggestions for getting the connection up and running let me know. I appreciate any help that can be provided, later!

Solved: no connection with WG311v2 wirless card

The problem is specifically with this card and has to do with the firmware. The Kubuntu forum post didn't work for me. Instead I used the more detailed Ubuntu forum post and that did the trick: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=233565
