Slow performance on good machine !?

    Hello everyone
My my problem is that the performance of the Linux is slow. The machine is AthlonXP 2400+, 2x 512DDR, GF6600, 250GB SATA. I'll give you an expample. I open gamespot.com (Firefox) and when I scroll it is very slow like you play a new game on very slow machine. I have drivers for the video but for monitor I've chosen SAMSUNG 710 T (TFT) because mine ( 760BF) is not in the list (the two monitors are similar thats why I've do this but may be the problem is here. I use K7 kernel with all updates of the linux. In Kinfo when you click "OpenGL" it recognize my video but the 3D acelerator is "unknown" which I think is a problem. I have the NVIDIA screen when I log in the "glx" everything is enabled. Please good people help me
    Thank you in advanced.

You might not be using them when you log into kde then. Try looking in your system settings, then view what you are using for your display settings under hardware. Might be just that you need to make your system use the nvidia driver is all.

I hope it's that easy for ya!

    good luck

    Wishing you well.
