    CDRom timeout, random

This is an odd problem that I thought I solved already by disabling the automount of the cdrom drive. And it hasn't cropped up until today when I brought my laptop to school. I saw an error during bootup and it showed up once I got into KDE. Anyway when the error occurs the system pauses for about 2-4 seconds.

    Here's the error:

    Code:
Oct 10 12:21:17 kub kernel: [17179692.648000] ata2 is slow to respond, please be patient
    Oct 10 12:21:18 kub NetworkManager: <information>^Imatch

    Re: CDRom timeout, random

Well, I managed to get some more info heh... This only happens when running on battery power. As to what would cause it, I still haven't figured it out.
