This is an odd problem that I thought I solved already by disabling the automount of the cdrom drive. And it hasn't cropped up until today when I brought my laptop to school. I saw an error during bootup and it showed up once I got into KDE. Anyway when the error occurs the system pauses for about 2-4 seconds.
