neomagic card resolutions and sound problems

Hello everybody. I finally got Kubuntu to install, but not without a few hitches.

I can't get my screen resolution to set to the proper setting. I even edited the file with the system hardware *the xorg one* and it still isn't giving me a high enough screen resolution.

I have a 17" monitor stuck in 800x600 mode, with the bottom and righthand sides having a black strip of unused screen.

My card is a neomagic card, this is a Dell Latitude Cpi laptop.

Also, how do I figure out what sound hardware I have? Kubuntu is showing it as a generic device, but I don't get any sound from my laptop, the volume applet says it doesn't detect my sound drivers or whatever it needs to give me sound.

Final question, I have a PS/2 Port an a PS/2 to USB adapter I want to use so I don't have to stick my mouse into my USB and use my touchpad whenever I need my USB stick. >__>

    Thanks!

Okay that's about it, everything else is running super great in terms  of hardware

I'd suggest that you check out Linux on Laptops, and TuxMobil
