HP ZV6149 and ATI Radeon Xpress 200

Since a few days I'm running on Kubuntu Desktop 64 bit. That's because I don't like the WinXP x64. A friend of mine said that Kubuntu was very good and yes, it is!
In my HP laptop is a ATI-videocard (Xpress 200) with 128mb memory. I've tried serveral times to install the flgrx drivers for my card, but everytime the problem is that my screen starts actring strange (I don't know how to explain it, but somethings stay at the screen and others things are placed above it, nothing is clear to see. I've tried it with the ATI-driver-installation as well and nothing is working...
    Does anyone have a solution?

Sorry for the belated reply. Have you installed linux-restricted-modules-<your-kernel>, where <your-kernel> is the output of the konsole command "uname -r"?

Yes, that's done. I've also tried to use the normal ATI-drivers and tried to install the fglrx drivers manually. Nothing worked out the way it should. My screen just hangs or stays black. Untill now, I've found a few people who have a ATI Xpress 200M card and 3D support in Kubuntu or any Linux distribution.
I still haven't found a clue to fix it, but if you know anything, please contact me. I like Kubuntu very much, but I want to fix these problems. Thanks!
