Hi,
System is P4 AOpen AX4BS, 384 MB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 2 Ti GPU.
I'm dual-booting Gentoo 2006.0 and Ubuntu 6.0.6.
I was originally using an NEC AccuSync 95F monitor, then the other day got myself an HP L2035 flat panel from a friend. When I swapped the monitors, Gentoo came up OK, albeit still at 1024x768 (I tried changing resolution to 1280x1024 but didn't work). However, when I booted into Ubuntu, the screen was all garbled and full of X errors. I switched to command-line and tried to fix xorg.conf, but got nowhere.
Decided to install kubuntu over my ubuntu.
Installation went fine and after I logged in I got 1024x768 resolution which I tried modifying. Noticed that the graphics card was showing as VESA, though it when I went to change it, it does show NVIDIA GeForce 2 DDR generic under the hardware tab, so I selected this as my card.
Then I attempted to change the resolution to 1600x1200 at 75Hz. I guess I should have tested before saving the changes
Anyhow after I restarted X I got an error saying no useable configuration found.
I fixed the xorg.conf enrties and was able to get back to the default settings. But I still would like to increase my screen resolution. How??
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Paul
