    HP laserjet 4 Plus

I have an HP laserjet 4 Plus printer, hooked up to the network, so it is a TCP connection. I have been using postscript printing, but I was hoping that someone could give me instructions on how to get PCL printing up and going.

The FIRST RESORT for all printing problems in Linux is LinuxPrinting.org. Here is their LaserJet 4+ page.

With that out of the way, you should realize that virtually all printable output in Linux is produced in Postscript. Accordingly, the best way to print anything (even text) from the GUI is to use a Postscript printer. Converting to PCL will simply add an extra step, thereby taking extra time and possibly reducing quality. That said, you might want to look at the LP.o page because they suggest ways to speed up and improve the quality of output from the 4+.
