DVD/CD Writer/Reader

I have recently installed kubuntu, and I cannot figure out how to see my cd-rom drive.  It is a HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4167B by LG and Hitachi.  I go to system, media and i see hard drive and floppy drive, but not my cd drive.  I think it is really odd because I used a cd to install it

Do you have in the /etc/fstab something like this:

/dev/hdc /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,atime,noauto,ro,dev,exec,suid 0 0

I have LG DVD GSA-4165B.

Yes I do have the file, and through some tweaking I did last night, I found I can access the drive this morning. Thank-you for the info though!
