Canon Digital EOS Rebel XT

Has anyone gotten this Digital SLR to work?? I've read it should just be recognized, but it's not under Digikam/gPhoto2. Any info to where I might find some config info or a HOW-To would be greatly appreciated?

I've got a Canon PowershotPro 1, and it isn't recognized either. However, the camera has a 2Gb mini-hard drive. I simply take the drive out of the camera and put it in a card reader, plug the card reader into a USB port, and voila! Dapper recognizes it as another drive.

If you're using any kind of memory card, you might give that a try. Card readers are getting inexpensive these days, so much so that most new computers come with them built-in.
