Slugish logout

I've googled some stuff and seems like i'm not the only one with this problem but no fix?
when i end the current session it sits there almost fully functional for a good 30 seconds - 1 min before it decides to end and go back to kdm
if you read my sound problem post you know i used to use debian stable once again i didn't have this problem

I use Debian Sid on a P4 box and Kubuntu on an AMD-64 desktop and a Pentium M laptop. I haven't noticed any particular difference between the way that they perform when I end the current session, e.g. to go into Gnome, but I rarely do that, so I may simply not have noticed the difference. Do you see anything strange in the messages flying by when you shutdown?
