intel wireless on inspiron lag problem - dhcp requests

    Hi all

    I have kubuntu dapper installed on a Dell Inspiron 9400/2G ram/100G HD/ATI x1400 video/1.83Ghz intel duo etc

It has an intel wireless chipset - it uses the ipw3945 module, and works fairly well - except.....

about every 5 minutes or so I get about 10 seconds of lag - the wifi light on the laptop flashes, and then everything comes good again. This ofcourse plays havoc with the ut24k playing

Also, Ive noticed that the dhclient is spewing dhcp requests over the interface - even though it already has an ip

Can anyone tell me how to quiet this down? Perhaps the 2 are related?

    Thanks

I have a similar problem. I don't have a solution but maybe it's the router. I have a Linksys B. I will be moving over to a Netgear G soon. I want the better speed, security, and range and hopefully it'll fix this problem.
