I have the usual onboard AC'97 and as everyone knows, M$ Windows automatically enables MIDI playback through hardware right? There is no software emulation..
Ok now..when i was running Ubuntu i used TIMIDITY sofware emulation for MIDI playback which was really ugly. But that was the only way..i couldnt find any other means of enabling MIDI. Now on Kubuntu i noticed there is a test for both normal sound & midi in the sound settings. But well the MIDI test fails, nothing heard. So i figured it might b possible to get MIDI working through hardware..is it? If it is, anyone care to enlighten me? Thanks!
