    Problem with Display Power Management

I'm using Dapper. I enable display power saving in SystemSettings->Display and although the screen actually blanks, the monitor does not go into standby mode. I'm using a Geforce FX card, with NVIDIA glx drivers and Sony SDM-HS95P display in DVI mode. Monitor setting in SystemSettings is "Generic Flatpanel 1280x1024".

I've used other Linux distros in the past (Suse) and have had a similar problem. Is this a general KDE or Linux problem? I use this same display for Windows XP and it goes into Standby mode properly.

LOL. Problem solved...I think. I had to manually edit xorg.config and enable DPMS. The Display now goes into Standby mode but I've only been testing this for a short time.

Where in the xorg.conf file did you enable "dpms"? I am having the same problem, and cant seem to get the power settings to stay. Even when I turn on display power managment it doesn't work anyway.
The screen savers don't work either, they only blank the screen. Any help would be good.

        Add:
        Option "DPMS"
        Under the monitor section
