    USB Headphones

I can see the phones loaded when I type
    cat /proc/asound/modules the display is:
    0 snd_intel8x0
    1 snd_usb_audio

but no sound comes out of them. Sound comes out of the computer speakers but not the headphones. It is supposed to be that the headphones disable and override the internal sound card. How can I make this happen? please help, the headphones sound so good.

My first suggestion is that you go to kmix (click on the blue speaker on the right side of the task bar) and click mixer. Check to insure that nothing is muted and turn all of the volumes up. There may be a tab for your headphones.

I changed the /proc/asound/modules so that...

      snd_usb_audio mplayer linux

      ...cathes the 0 index.

The headphones emit all system sound (alert sound in Kmix) but no audio playback for videos (xine, Kaffeine).

the USB sound card (the phones) is working properly. I think maybe soemthing with how xine exports audio? Maybe someone can help?

Hey I had something similar.. read through this stuff on the Ubuntu forum..

        http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=134041

I had to reboot twice (or maybe 3) times. After that my Extigy worked!

Unfortunately Amarok claimed it had an invalid xine engine (even though it managed to play a track and a half of music) and then it packed in replacing xine with void engine or something.

I managed to get Kaffeine working.. now playing track 2.. fingers crossed!!!
