    Sound problem SB Audigy LS

I seem to be having some sort of conflict happening between my Soundblaster Audigy LS and my Motherboard's onboard sound.

My motherboard is a P4S800D and comes with an ADI AD1980 SoundMAX onboard sound system - which uses the AC97 driver.

I have disabled it in BIOS (I think), but the mixer still shows my input as using AC97, which it should not considering that I am using the Soundblaster as my sound card. I think this might be to blame for long term sound problems with Linux, one of which involves getting sound to work on Ventrilo (through Cedega) and other sound lag issues.

I had this same issue with my mobo till I disabled it in the bios and then it stopped showing up in my mixer tab... I used to get this gosh aweful soundwhen AC97 driver was enabled in the bios.. Also check if you have PCI Sound enabled..
