wireless card won't enable!

i think i posted something like this earlier when i was still using the livecd... well now everything else is working .... so i need to make the wireless work now...

basically, i have a Compaq Presario V2000. It has the wireless card in it. Kubuntu detected it and lists it in the network system settings module. However, while i can enable the ethernet card, the wireless card thinks for a long time, starts, then quits half a second later. Kwifi couldn't find any networks.

Does anyone have a clue what could be happening?

I found this howto when researching about my wireless. I haven't actually tried it cause I got my wireless to work by just fiddling with the settings somehow. It's basically how to get your card working using the windows driver.

Have you configured it to look for your "broadcast" SSID? at the bottom left hand side of that settings page it should say configure. thats were you tellit that you want dhcp and what ssid to look for. after that when you enable it, it should find your router.
