    need help with printer

I have HP LaserJet 1100, which uses parallel port.
But my motherboard does not have a parallel port, so I use a usb-to-parallel cable.
This setup worked without a hitch in WinXP.
How can I make this work in Kubuntu dapper?
In KinfoCenter, I see an unknown usb device, which I think is the usb-to-parallel printer.
The usb-to-parallel device is from Moschip, and the installation CD only has Windows drivers.

You may need pacific drivers from hp to make this work but what you can do is try the printer drivers from turboprint.

Another route you can try is buying a pci card to provide a parallel port.

The good news is that if you can get a parallel port, the printer works perfectly with Linux. See http://linuxprinting.org/show_printe...-LaserJet_1100
