On my WinXP system I burnt a DVD full of pictures and some videos from a trip I took earlier this year. My WinXP system reads and copies from the DVD just fine, but my Kubuntu system (a different PC) won't do it. I can put the DVD in the drive and Kub will detect it and ask me what to do...I choose to open the disc and display the files.
The drive is displayed in Konqueror with no problems. I can view pictures. However, when I try to copy files to my Desktop the DVD drive stalls. What's up with that?
