    Connect laptop to TV

I have a wire that connects to the "use external moniter" port. It's a 15 pin fat blue thing. it outputs video out (female yellow rca thing), so I used standard male to male rca (yellow, white, red, but I only plugged the yellow one into the TV) to connect the laptop to the TV. The picture doesn't show however. What can I do? What line in my xorg.conf do I have to modify/add to get this working?

edit: my laptop has an ATI RAGE mobility gfx card (pretty old), but that shouldn't matter because it's using the external monitor port, and not a TV-out port.

    Hi
On an IBM laptop to get to an external Monitor you have to press the "Fn+F7" keys.
I think it is control by the BIOS.
There are three settings: first for the laptop, second for external monitor, and third for both.

If your laptop have the 15 pin monitor connection you should be able too view on a TV I think,  I have not tried it use a TV.

    Good Luck

I've read about these somewhere, where the gfx card can use the 15pin d-sub as either svga or composite/s-video.

I'd try one of these as a starting point:-
