    Problem With Nvidia Drivers

    Hi,

New to Kunbuntu and tried to install Nvidia drivers as described in Kunbuntu docs.

Command to enable nvidia-glx driver just produces an error.

Is there a decent how to on this? Or can someone give me a walkthrough. The driver is installed through adept, it is the enabling that is the problem.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Re: Problem With Nvidia Drivers

if you get an error running "sudo nvidia-glx-config enable", you can enter the command given in the error message to clear it up, making sure to add 'sudo' to the beginning, and re-run the nvidia-glx-config command. ( I am at work, and don't have access to my kubuntu machine so I don't remember the exact command)

The other option is to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf - browse there, right-click on the file and select Actions - Edit as Root, then enter your sudo password. When the file opens, look for the line that says
    Driver "nv"
and change "nv" to "nvidia", save and then ctrl-alt-backspace to restart your x server.

This looks to be a bug, and I will look to see if one has been filed on this yet. I will submit a bug report if noone else has
