no write access for usb storage under Kubuntu Dapper

I have recently installed Kubuntu Dapper (official release) on my laptop. It can read my usb flash key, which has a FAT32 partition. However the system just did not allow me to write to that key, even if I use the sudo command.

abc@abc-laptop:~/Desktop$ sudo cp -R tele301 /media/usbdisk/
cp: cannot create directory `/media/usbdisk/tele301': Read-only file system

What's wrong here and how can we fix it?

Maybe your usb key has the lock switch into the lock position??

Happend to me yesterday. Setting the key to the unlocked position an all was fine

Hi!

I have got it sought out. Actually this had nothing wrong with Kubuntu. When I looked at dmesg, I found out that the reason kubuntu set my drive to ro is because filesystem errors were detected at the time of mounting. So I was actually grateful that the system force the mount to be RO so that no further damage will in inflicted to the data
