It looks as if sharevts in kUbuntus version of xorg doesn't work.
Whenever I'm trying to start a second X-Server the first one "locks up".
I'm starting both with the sharevts option. I'm also using prefbusid and isolatedevice. But that doesn't seem to make any difference.
I am also using evdev on all X-Servers.
The cards I'm using are a Matrox G450 for the Xinerama configuration on one seat and another Matrox on another seat.
All in all my guess is that sharevts is simply ignored. It doesn't seem to make any difference if I'm using sharevts or not.
