Dapper Drake + No Sound

I upgraded to Dapper Drake, and I've lost my sound. My mixer has pretty much everything turned all the way up (except for treble and bass, which are half way), and amaroK complains that it can't find gstreamer, and falls back to xine. What can I do to get my sound back?

did you check the gstreamer is installed ? One of the issues in Dapper is
the transition to gstreamer 0.10 - right now, there are packages for both
0.8 and 0.10 coexisting , I have them both installed ...

Yes, gstreamer is installed. 0.8 was installed by default and I did apt-get install gstreamer-0.10* which installed everything related to gstreamer 0.10. Still no sound after all of that.

I installed Kubuntu dapper flight 5 and the sound is not working for me too. I have gstreamer10 installed.

I as well am having problems with sound. When I first installed 6.04 sound was working, but is now broken after doing a apt-get upgrade. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I was told that it was due to the new kernel. We have to either go back to the old one or wait till they fix it.

Yep reverting back to the older kernel fixed the problem!

Since I have a dual core notebook, I want to use 686 kernel and I don't find 2.6.15-18. I have only 2.6.15-19 686 kernel. I have 2.6.15-18 386 kernel. Any idea?
