I keep finding solutions to the screen resolution being stuck at 640x480, but nothing seems to work. After installing and rebooting, as well as when I was running from a live CD, I could get 1024x786 but for some reason after rebooting once, I am stuck at 640x480 and the desktop is pretty much just a tiny box in the center of the screen surrounded by blackness...Endless blackness...I'm using a Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop, if that matters, and I'm not sure if the problem is hardware related or not. Also, I'm unable to toggle between CRT display and LCD on the laptop. Is it possible that this might be related to the screen resolution issue?
