old nvidia video card "vida 128ZX", cant find driver, framerate problem

i downloaded both the nvidia-glx, and nvidia-glx-legacy packages, and when theyre installed it knocks out open gl entirely.

i cant find a linux driver for my old vida 128ZX card.

i tried to use envy, the program that will detect and install new drivers for your invidia card, but the program gave me error messages and didnt work.

i need to up the frame rate from horribly slow(about.25 frames per second and worse) so i can continue to program in the 3d game area of programming.

can someone help me get the right driver configuration for my vida 128(only an 8 mb video card) so that i can get a framerate hopefuly above 30 frames per second?

You may want to take a look at FAQ #1 at that link: http://developer.nvidia.com/object/RIVA_128_FAQ.html
