3D acceleration

Anyone know how I can enable 3d acceleration to be able to run say games like tuxkart on my linux? I have Intel 940 GML Express grafics card and have already installed 915resolution, but this only fixes the resolution for these cards, not the acceleration.

Have you tried the xserver-xorg-video-intel driver?

coool thanks alot works perfect now.
Although kCometen(screensaver) still lags like crazy. Is it really that heavy? I mean this laptop can run Battle for Middle Earth 2 on windows on low settings perfectly...

Also could you perhaps tell me why independently of what screensaver I choose I only get a big white X(like the banner of xserver) as a screensaver?(but they work when I press test)
