    Side buttons on my mouse

Hi, I am new to this forum and new to linux. I love linux so far and my favorite flavor right now is Kubuntu 6.06 64. I am wondering if there is a way to get my side buttons on my mouse to work. The side buttons that make you go back and/or forth on either a web page or doc. I have checked the mouse settings and there is nothing listed for those buttons. I know it sounds kinda petty as all of the other things on my mouse work including the scroll wheel, but if anyone else has this kind of mouse and got them to work it would be so helpfull. I really miss being able to use these buttons instead of going up to the arrow for back every time I am surfing.
    Thanks so much

Cool, Thanks.. I noticed it said if you already have GNOME but I am using KDE (if I am not mistaken) as I use Kubuntu, isnt that KDE?? Would the directions work the same for both? Thanks so much.

The instructions provided on that link are not DE specific, show they should (and will) work for both Gnome and Kde.

You may also wish to perform a search for your mouse model to find out which exact button settings work best for your model (unless you wish to experiment yourself, which can take a few tries and some time)
