Hi, I'm new to Kubuntu-Dapper and I've somehow managed to mess up my screen resolution.
After a clean install my screen resolution (on a Dell 600m) was "fine" <<well..limited to 1024X768 but that's ok for me>>.
Following installing the recomended update packages, firefox2, and some drivers to enable wireless, my screen resolution now only works at 640X400!!
Under the system setting menu I do have to ability to increase the slider but any higher resolution corrupts the screen (the cursor becomes a fuzzy square, nothing is rendered properly...a big mess).
I was using Ubuntu last week (my first week on Linux) and I didn't have any problems...
oh, and my video card is ATI 9000 - it was correctly identified by Kubuntu and seemed to be working perfectly...
sorry for the long post but its a frustrating problem!
Thanks
