Trying to install latest Google earth cannot satisfy dependencies

    [DESKTOP] Trying to install latest Google earth cannot satisfy dependencies

    Using Kubuntu 20.10 & plasma 5.19.5

    Trying to install latest Google earth ( ver 7.7.7.7786-r0 )
    Get error below. "cannot satisfy dependencies".
    Have searched allot, and cannot find a solution, to dependencies etc, and relevant within the last 3 versions of Kubuntu.
    Any ideas ?

    I had the same problem and just downloaded an older version from 2017: ver. 7.3.0.3832. It works for my purposes. Or you can use the satellite mask from Google Maps, which may have more up-to-date pictorial data, I don't know.

        My initial guess , based on the date of the most current version of Google Earth (July 2020), is that the deb isn't compatible with the latest Ubuntu 20.10's versions of its dependencies.

        KDE Neon being Ubuntu 20.04 is why it installs fine there.

          It would be interesting to see what dependencies were causing the trouble. Perhaps the OP could try installing the Earth DEB file from a terminal and post the output?

          sudo dpkg -i package_file.deb
          Constant change is here to stay!
