Hi,
I have two text files, compiled over years, each thought to be the sole copy.
It has only been the change from Suze to Kubuntu that brought this to light.
There are differences of course. I need to produce a single document that includes all those differences.
I have experimented with various terminal commands but have found nothing useful, so far in this regard.
I hope to find a command that would print lines containing differing content, excluding spaces, and only those lines, numbered preferably!
The document(s) are around the 80,000 word mark.
They are currently in the odt format, but could be reduced to plain text for this purpose.
Any and all suggestions listened to with great interest, and tested I've no doubt, the outcome being reported here, if that's deemed helpful.
best regards
Chris
