I am running Groovy Gorilla on my desktop, with 16 Gb memory and an i3-7100 cpu. For the past three or so kernel updates (5.8 series) my audio and ethernet connection no longer work after rebooting, and I have to go back to the previous kernel. This is usually solved the next day with a further update for the same new kernel, but I'm curious as to why it happens in the first place. It seems as if the update package is done in two stages, and that seems odd to me. Anyone else have this problem? Does anyone have an explanation?

I have reloaded Focal Fossa as I wasn't happy with my Groovy experience. Like you, I also experienced non-working audio. However Ubuntu Gorilla installs with audio so I think the KDE part of the thing might contain the answer.
Forgive my lack of programming ability or experience and inability to offer a solution.
I would happily work towards finding a solution with someone experienced enough to tackle this.
I am going to start a new thread outlining my installation experience. I realise that this is probably not the place to get support for these issues, but I have to start somewhere.
Why so late coming to the party? Somehow when I tried to discuss my problems on these forums I received a ban. It only just got it lifted so here I go again...
